Kris McGuire, Chief Executive Officer founded Victory Solutions in 2006 to provide a range of
aerospace engineering products and technical services to the Department of Defense (DoD),
NASA and commercial customers.
As one of the first women assigned to the Air Force Special Weapons Center’s maintenance
squadron at Kirkland Air Force Base during the Vietnam War, Kris experienced first-hand the
importance of supplying the War Fighter with the right tools to accomplish critical missions in a
timely fashion. It was with this experience in mind, coupled with a proven ability to identify,
organize, fund and successfully start-up large projects, that she initiated a research and
development effort to design a portable system to defend the War Fighter against small rocket
threats in 2007. After proof-of-concept she obtained support for prototype development; taking
advantage of Huntsville’s engineering expertise combined with the manufacturing expertise
found in Guntersville and Marshall County. In 2007 Kris expanded her young company’s focus to
support NASA Marshall Space Flight Center with design, development, test and evaluation
expertise to create the nation’s next generation launch system, Ares I and V. She led an effort that
won a MSFC engineering support prime contract for Victory Solutions in early 2008. This
contract continues to provide MSFC with Concept Development, Design Engineering, Analysis,
Systems Engineering, and Test Integration support to define and evaluate the new Space Launch
System (SLS).
Victory Solutions has grown at an average annual rate of 45% from 2006 to 2010 under Kris’
leadership. This growth has included expanding Victory Solutions’ knowledge base and footprint
into 5 other states to support programs managed by the Missile Defense Agency, DoD High
Performance Computing Modernization Program, and the Transportation Security Agency. Kris
finds developing an idea or product through all phases of its life cycle to be one of the most
satisfying aspects of being the CEO of Victory Solutions. She understands you can only do this
by recruiting and sustaining an effective technical and management team. An example of this
practice is demonstrated by her receiving the 2010 Alabama “Patriot Award” given by the
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to those that support and acknowledge the
contribution of employees in the National Guard or Reserve.
Her passion for public policy as a private citizen is marked by her involvement with leading
service disabled veterans initiatives at the grassroots level and lobbying for more positive support.
As part of our local community, Kris has raised millions of dollars for non-profit organizations
ranging from the arts to education. Knowing that the power of these investments can be
multiplied by working with government, she has built relationships with both sides of the aisle of
the Alabama Delegation in Congress. She has leveraged these relationships to work on projects to
ensure the voting rights of the military stationed overseas, as well as develop programs to offer
local and national community colleges system engineering courses leveraged from NASA and
DoD expertise in the Huntsville area.
A 1988 graduate of St. Mary’s College in Maryland with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, Kris is also a
board member of the Women's Business Center of North Alabama and a member of the National
Space Club.
